A fast-growing AI and data infrastructure startup is looking for a Sales Engineer to join its early commercial team. This is a highly technical, customer-facing role supporting a product used by engineering and data teams to build reliable, production-ready data workflows for AI applications.

The business has built a platform that allows organisations to design and run data pipelines and workflows that power AI systems and internal analytics. The product consolidates multiple steps of the modern data stack into a single environment, helping teams build, manage and operate data workflows more reliably.

With strong inbound demand from developers, open-source users and the broader data community, they are now hiring their first Sales Engineer to work alongside the Account Executive team and support the growing pipeline of technical buyers.

The Role

This position sits at the intersection of engineering, data infrastructure and customer engagement.

You will work closely with prospects evaluating the platform, demonstrating how it can be applied to real data problems and guiding customers through trials, proofs of concept and early implementation.

Rather than a traditional sales role, this position is best suited to someone with a technical background who enjoys working directly with users and helping them solve problems.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Account Executives during the sales process to support technical conversations
Deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to each customer’s data architecture and use cases
Translate customer requirements into practical implementations within the platform
Build proof-of-concept workflows to demonstrate the value of the product
Support prospects during trials and assist with early-stage onboarding
Act as the technical bridge between customer needs and the product’s capabilities

What They’re Looking For

Background

Around 3+ years of experience in a technical data role
Previous experience such as:
Data Engineer
Data Scientist
Data Analyst
Machine Learning Engineer

Candidates must be technically fluent and comfortable working with data systems, pipelines and modern data tooling.

Technical Skills

Experience working with Python or similar scripting languages
Strong understanding of the modern data stack
Experience working with data pipelines, analytics workflows or ML systems
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
